A logo is the most recognizable part of a brand. Sometimes a logo is worth its weight in gold – people across all nations, languages and culture can instantly recognize the Golden Arches, the Coca-Cola script or the Macintosh Apple.
The term logo is a shortened form of ‘logogram’ which means a sign or character that represents a word or phrase. It comes from the Greek word ‘logos’ which means word.
So, a logo is simply a visual sign that communicates a word or phrase and people have actually been using them since time immemorial to let other people know who they were and what they were offering.
